How to build your own Solar Panel Array and Save Money

What you need to build your first solar panel array.

Before we begin, you have to know that Solar Panel manufacturing plants are held to high standards such as the ISO 9001 2015 Standard. This, as well as other government regulations make the solar panels that you buy commercially of a high quality. You may or may not get the same results at home. You can read more about the ISO 9001 Standard by clicking here.

Below you will find the tools that you need to build your own solar array, along with where to purchase them. Remember that solar power can save you hundreds of dollars in electricity costs. For that alone, considering solar power and creating a solar panel array system can be one of the best investments you will ever make in your home. Just read the following article for more information: Solar Article on Forbes.

Solar Batteries: to collect the energy from your inverters

The first thing you need to know is that while you can generate electricity from the solar panels outside of your home and send it right to your house, you will probably want some type of battery storage system with which to gather the electrical charge from the inverters which turn the solar energy into electrical energy.

Solar Batteries can be of great use also when you wish to take some extra power on the road with you when camping, these batteries can be used to power lamps, stoves, small generators. You can probably even use them to power a portable telephone or television while you are stuck out in the wild (good luck getting cable though).

The bottom line is if you want to store the power that is coming directly from the sun and use it for any future or immediate use you should really think about buying good set of batteries for your solar power banks. To find the best types and the ones to use it would probably be best if you contacted one of the many solar power distributors out there such as Solar Blvd or Renewable Depot. In addition there are many great videos and tutorials online that can get you started, such as the one seen on this page.

Charge Controllers to well … control your charge

Charge controllers are one of the most important pieces of equipment in your entire solar panel array.  The main issue is that Solar Panels need some way of regulating the energy coming out of them. Charge Controllers make sure that steady flow of energy goes through to the battery and does not overload it. Charge controllers come in many different types (such as MPPT and PWM) and some good charge controllers can be picked up here.

Solar Inverters

Solar inverters are what make the magic happen – they are the connector between your solar battery and your home and office appliances. That means, next to the Solar Panels the inverters are the most important part of the entire circuit.

A good Solar Inverter can be hard to find so I am including a link to the some of the best inverters right here.

Solar Panels … Duh!

Of course in order to collect all of those beautiful sun rays that can save you so much money over the life of your home, you are going to need to get yourself a good solid batch of solar panels. Solar Panels can be purchase in many different styles and charging capacities but two of the most common types of solar panel are actually the 12 and 24 volt panels. The main difference between the two is the amount of power that they can absorb from the sun at any given time. One thing you always want to make sure of is that you are purchasing the proper size panels for what it is you wish to do. For instance in some cases it may be better to go with 6 12 Volt solar Panels instead of 3 24 volt solar panels. This all depends on what it is you wish to do with your solar panels.

The most important thing that I can say is that you have to do your research, if you cannot or do not have the time to run the proper research then hire a consultant or a full blown solar panel installer to help your. While setting up a solar panel array is a very good idea you do not want to burn your house down in the process. Again you can always contact a company such as Solar Blvd to help you gather some more information if you are not sure or you can just take a trip down to Lowe’s or Home Depot it’s really up to you.
